Hurricane Yas, which originated in the Bay of Bengal, took the form of a very severe storm on Tuesday. Review by Home Minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday reviewed the preparations in view of the cyclone. The meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Lieutenant Governors of Andaman and Nicobar Islands through video-conferencing. The Home Minister directed the senior officials to co-operate with the states in every possible way and the issue of relocating people from high risk areas to safer places was discussed.
