After mass promotion in Std. 10, there was a need for new classes for admission in Std.
At present 9.50 lakh mass promotion was given against the arrangement of 6 lakh students in Std.
At present, the state will need 2000 new classes and more than 3000 teachers.
Due to the epidemic of corona virus, Gujarat government has introduced standard in schools. Mass promotion has been given to students from 1st to 11th. It will now increase the number of classes as well as students in high schools in the new academic year. So the education department has carried out an exercise to increase the number of classes before the start of the academic session. The school commissioner's office has requested the number of existing classes of standard 9, 10, 11 and 12 of all the grant aided schools in the state. On the other hand, the Board of Education has also announced to apply online for the new class addition from June 1 to July 31.

Students and parents are happy with the decision, but now questions have been raised about admitting all students who have passed 11th standard. At present in Gujarat there is a system only for 6 lakh students of Std. 11 out of 9.50 lakh, even if 50 present students choose diploma or any other field, the question of 9 lakh students may arise.
