In Gujarat, the number of corona cases dropped from 5,000 to 4,251 on Friday. A further 65 deaths were reported in 24 hours. However, the death toll in all the cities of the state was one digit. A further 8,783 patients recovered and the state's recovery rate rose to 87.97 per cent. In the last 21 days, 2.57 lakh people have recovered while the death toll has tripled. The news of relief is also that at present 57 per cent beds are vacant in hospitals in 6 cities. However, this does not mean that the Corona crisis is over.

Tests dropped, vaccinations slowed The
markets in the top cities were crowded after the state was partially unlocked. The number of cases in the state has been steadily declining since May 1. On May 1, there were more than 1.42 lakh active cases, which has come down to 84,000 on May 21. And the daily death toll has dropped from 172 to 65. The relief is that the availability of beds with oxygen and ventilators has also increased. At present, 54% of the beds with oxygen and 20% of the beds with ventilators are empty. At the same time, the number of tests has decreased and the pace of vaccination has slowed down. There was a 1 lakh drop in vaccinations on May 21 compared to May 1. (See tables)
