For the first time, a transgender person from Bangladesh read the news on TV. He completed his studies by working in cinemas.

In Bangladesh, transgender people live by begging, prostitution or engaging in criminal activities.

We have all seen the anchors reading the news on TV many times. It has some men, some women, but has become a transgender anchor in Bangladesh, setting a unique precedent. Today marks the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's independence, for the first time a transgender person has been made a news anchor. Her name is Tashnuva Anan Shishir, who is also a model and actor. He slammed the narrow-mindedness of the society when he started reading the news on a national news channel in Bangladesh with confidence. He started moving forward in life after making 4 suicide attempts.

It took a lot of hard work to
fill the gaps in his stomach and he finished the news bulletin by reading the news like other anchors with utmost confidence. So that a wave of happiness spread even among his colleagues. She became so emotional after her first bulletin that tears welled up in her eyes. According to the information received, there are about 1.5 million transgender people living in Bangladesh. They also face a lot of discrimination and violence within the country. The people of this community resort to begging, prostitution or engaging in criminal activities to fill their stomachs in compulsion.



Attempted suicide 4 times
Tashnuva Anan Shishir started his anchoring career with a private news channel Boishakhi TV, in which he spent 3 minutes reading the news and had a memorable moment. He said of his personal life that he knew he was transgender when he was a teenager. She was sexually abused and abused for many years. He further said that he felt so insulted by the attitude of such people that he tried to commit suicide 4 times. Her father had also stopped talking to Tashnuva many years ago. He is now 29 years old. He left home when he was not in a position to confront society with his true identity. She left home and moved to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

After finishing her studies by
working in cinemas, she started working on hormone therapy and started working to run the house. Despite all these difficulties, he completed his studies by working in cinemas. He completed his master's degree in public health from the James P. Grant School of Public Health in January. She was the first transgender woman to complete the study.

People in the LGBT community still face a lot of discrimination in modern times. They still have strict laws for homosexuality and severe punishment for those who do so. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government announced after 2013 that transgender people would be identified as people of a different gender. He then registered to vote in 2018 as the third gender.



Only Boishakhi TV allowed him to work.

Ali Manek, a spokesperson for Boishakhi TV, said the decision was taken without considering the reaction of some viewers who have a conservative view. He gave this opportunity to a transgender even though there was a lot of risk on him to take this initiative. He further said that Tashnuva had auditioned in several channels, but only Boishakhi TV allowed him to work.
