The entire farmers 'movement is being carried out with 6 mangoes, this demand has already been sent in writing to all the ministers of the central government by the farmers' leaders.
Dr. Darshan Pal says that Home Minister Amit Shah himself has admitted that there was no discussion with the farmers at the time of making the new law which was not appropriate.
When the central government sent a proposal to change the agricultural law two days ago, people felt that the farmers would now wrap up their agitation. This was happening in human beings because looking at this proposal, it seems that the government has accepted every major demand of the farmers.
The proposal calls for written assurances by the government to perpetuate the existing MSP system, non-annexation of farmers' lands, taxation of private markets and giving farmers the option to go to court.
These are almost all the things that are being demanded very strongly in this peasant movement. But when a meeting of farmers' organizations was held on the proposal, they rejected the proposal. They not only talked about continuing the agitation, but also warned the government that if the three agricultural laws were not withdrawn, they would intensify their agitation.
Since then, the question has come up again and again that why farmers are not doing their agitation despite all the conditions?
Farmer leader Dr Darshan Pal said the proposal from the government was in fact a hoax. The proposal states that the state government can impose a tax on private markets if it wishes. That is, taxation is not mandatory, the matter has been left to the discretion of the state government.
Second, it is clearing the way for a private market. While we demand that no other market system should be created by bypassing APMC (government market).
Asked about the MSP, Dr Darshan Pal said, "The government has said in the case of MSP that we will give the existing system in writing. But, our demand is that it be decided on the recommendation of MSP Swaminathan Punch for each crop. That is, one and a half times the price should be fixed which is a legal right of the farmer.
The government has not said anything like that, contract farming is also being implemented in this way, only the government is doing its conditions a little bit.
Explaining the reason for rejecting the proposal from the area, Dr Darshan Pal said Home Minister Amit Shah himself had admitted that discussions with farmers could not be held at the time of making the new law which was not appropriate. If the government has to make new laws, then these laws should be repealed first and then new laws should be made only after discussing with the farmers.
That is why we have clearly written our terms to the government. In which there are 6 demands which we have submitted to the government.
The entire peasant movement is being run on the six demands that Dr. Darshan Pal is talking about. The farmers' leaders have already sent these demands in writing to all the ministers of the Central Government, as follows:
All three agricultural laws are repealed.
Government procurement of all crops and obtaining MSP should be the legal right of the farmer.
MSP to be determined as per the report of Swaminathan Commission.
The ordinance relating to air quality management in the National Capital Region and its adjoining areas should be repealed.
The price of diesel used in the agricultural sector should be reduced by 50 per cent.
False cases have been filed against peasant leaders, intellectuals, poets, advocates, writers and human rights activists across the country.
Farmer leaders say the movement has started with all these demands. It will not happen that if one of these demands is accepted by the government and the other is dropped, the movement will be brought to an end. Another big farmer leader, Balveer Singh Rajewal, says, “In the proposal, the government has cleverly talked about regularizing private societies. Which is being shown as if the government is accepting the demands of the farmers.
But our demand is that the APMC (government market) system should be strengthened. Why does the government finally want to open up private markets? Who is going to benefit from this except corporate? The market system in Punjab and Haryana is excellent. A further 48 thousand such markets should be opened in different parts of the country so that every crop is sold on MSP and the government can buy it.
Instead of creating such a system all over the country, the government is working to break this system even where it is already underway.
Balveer Singh Rajewal, who has termed the new laws as anti-farmer, further said,
These laws are brought in just so that this whole business can be handed over to the corporate.
The government's new proposal was also moving in this direction, so we rejected it.
Regarding the rejection of the proposal by farmer leader Gurnam Singh Choudhury, he said, "There is something in the proposal but in reality the government has not accepted our demand. Which MSP is the biggest demand? Where has the government considered it? We are saying that a law should be enacted to guarantee the purchase.

When did they say we would make a law? They simply said that what was already going on would be given in writing. So where does this system work in Bihar? Where does this system work even in Uttar Pradesh? Where is MSP for maize and mustard available in Punjab and Haryana?
Our only demand is that the farmer is guaranteed to get MSP on all crops across the country. The new proposal has nothing to do with it, so we had no choice but to reject it. '
