October sales:
Automobile companies have started releasing October sales figures. Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car manufacturing company, has lost 24% year-on-year. Bajaj Auto, a maker of two- and three-wheelers, saw its sales decline by 14% year-on-year in October.

Maruti Suzuki's domestic sales fell 32%
The company had sales of 1.38 lakh units in October 2021. In October 2020, the figure was 1.38 lakh units. This means that the company's total sales have declined by 24.2% on an annual basis. Its domestic sales fell 32.4% during the period. Last month, the company's domestic sales stood at 1.17 lakh units. The figure was 1.73 lakh units in October last year. However, it has increased 1.2 times in exports. The company exported 21,322 units last month as against 9,586 units a year ago.

Tata Motors has a bumper growth of 30% annually
Tata Motors sold 67,829 units in October. The figure was 52,132 units in October last year. That means it has grown by 30% on an annual basis. During this period, the company saw an 18% increase in sales of commercial vehicles. It sold 33,674 units last month, up from 28,472 units a year ago. Due to the festive season, the company has recorded 31% growth in domestic sales. It sold 65,151 units, up from 49,669 units a year ago.

Bajaj Auto loses 22% in domestic sales
Bajaj had a total sales of 4.39 lakh units in October. In October 2020, the figure was 5.12 lakh units. That is, it faced a sharp decline of 14% on an annual basis. The company's domestic sales fell 22% during the period. The company sold 2.81 lakh units in October 2020, down from 2.18 lakh units in October 2021. The company also lost 4% in exports. Last month, it exported a total of 2.21 lakh units. A year ago, the figure was 2.31 lakh units.

Ashok Leyland's heavy commercial vehicle grew by 32%
In October 2021, the company's total sales increased by 11% year-on-year. It sold 11,079 units last month. A year ago, the figure was 9,989 units. During this period, its medium and heavy commercial vehicle segment saw 32% growth. The company sold 6,078 units in the segment last month. It sold 4,588 units in October a year ago. However, the company has lost 7% in the low commercial vehicle segment. It sold 5,001 units in this segment. A year ago the figure was 5,401 units.
Demand for escort tractors declined during the festive season
The festive season in the country began in October. But the demand for tractors has declined slightly this year on an annual basis this season. Escort sold a total of 13,515 tractors in October 2021. A year ago the figure was 13,664 units. That means the company sold 149 fewer tractors. It has lost 1.1% year-on-year.

TVS's annual sales fell 10%
October has not been a good month for TVS either. The company reported a loss of 10% year-on-year last month. It sold a total of 3.55 lakh units during the period. The figure was 3.94 lakh units in October last year. It lost 10.6% during bike sales. Last month it sold 3.41 bikes. A year ago, the figure was 3.82 lakh units. Meanwhile, the company made a 3% profit in exports. It exported 95,191 units. A year ago the figure was 92,520 units.
