The injections
will be purchased at a cost of Rs 18 lakh. The injections and tablets used for patients with mucomycosis will be procured by the municipality and the benefit will be given to about 120 patients undergoing treatment in the smear. A proposal to purchase 4800 100 mg capsules and 4200 injections of 200 mg at an estimated cost of Rs 12.87 lakh has been approved in the standing committee.

Permanent Chairman Paresh Patel said that the work assigned as additional work was to procure the required medicine for the patients with mucomycosis. It has been decided to make life saving medicine available in the market as there is a short supply. The drug will be purchased from Unique Enterprise, an authorized supplier to Pfizer Pvt. Ltd., India's exclusive parent manufacturer. It costs Rs 3.79 lakh for capsules and Rs 18.07 lakh for injections. It is worth mentioning that the treatment of mucomycosis is extremely expensive.
