A video of a daring operation carried out by Pipavav Coastguard personnel during a hurricane has surfaced. Fishermen stranded boats anchored on Fox Island during the hurricane. Meanwhile, a stand-by Coastguard team reached the drowning port to rescue the fishermen. A team of Pipavav Coastguard reached the middle of the sea with an emergency boat. More than 15 fishermen were rescued by a Coastguard team after an eight-hour heartbreaking operation.

Cyclonic storm Tauktae has intensified into a “very severe” cyclonic storm, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday morning. Cyclone Tauktae is likely to cross the Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Mahuva (Bhavnagar district) around early morning on May 18.
