In CBSE's Std-12 examination, students can take only 4 papers of one and a half hours on OMR sheet in their own school. The new datesheet could be issued by June 1. 32 States and Union Territories have agreed to conduct Std-12 examinations. Only 4 states - Delhi, Maharashtra, Goa and Andaman and Nicobar - have spoken of not taking the exam.

Even among the states agreeing for the exam, Rajasthan, Telangana and Tripura are in favor of the first option i.e. traditionally 3 hours written examination at the examination centers only. These states said it was not appropriate to change the format abruptly at the last minute, while 29 states supported the second option, saying that instead of an examination center, students should take 4 one-and-a-half hour papers in OMR sheet format in their own school, with 1 language and 3 elective papers. .
However, the six agreeing states - Kerala, Assam, Punjab, Jharkhand, Sikkim and Diu - have said that students should be vaccinated before the exams. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana also said that the paper pattern should be changed at least.

Most of the states will decide the format of State Board exams only after the CBSE datesheet and exam format are announced. Although the Center has already made it clear that the states are free to decide according to their situation, the states will try to follow the CBSE pattern to ensure better opportunities for their state's students in post-Std-12 studies and competitive examinations.

entrance exam of all professional courses in the country uses OMR sheet instead of answer sheet. In it the examinee has to tick his answer option with a pen.
