The hurricane has wreaked havoc in many districts of Gujarat and has caused severe damage to crops along with loss of life and property. Horticultural crops in Kutch have been severely damaged due to strong winds blown by the hurricane. Mango crop has deteriorated in 15 villages of Garhshisha diocese and there has been a strong demand for relief from the government after surveying the ruins.

In areas like Ratnapar, Moti Mau, Devpar, Makda, Khirsara, Kotda, Roha, in the Gadhsisa area, there are reports of extensive damage to the ready-made saffron mango crop. In this regard, Ganibhai Memon, a farmer from Gadhsisa, said that 100 carats of raw saffron mangoes had fallen in the wadi due to strong winds blowing since last evening.

According to Bhagwat Singh Jadeja of Moti Mauna, 25 to 30 mounds of mangoes have also fallen on the ground in his Ashapura farm. According to him, there has been a huge loss in every mango orchard in the area.





Shantilal Bhimani, a leading farmer from Ratnapar, said that with the mango crop being damaged, farmers were seen running to their farms and orchards to see the damage. Rajubhai Chhabhaiya of Rajeshwari Farm in Gadis also confirmed that the mango crop was severely damaged. Sohitbhai Dedhia, another leader of Gadisis, said that by taking permanent insurance of such horticultural crops from the government, farmers can be saved from such losses and farmers can get compensation.

Karamshibhai Patel, a leading farmer in Vajdi, said that black care was being inflicted on the farmers and the farmers were being ruined. Traders trading in mango orchards in the Gadsis area have also been disappointed to see the loss of millions.
