The possibility of a hurricane 'Taukte' (a name given by Myanmar) before the year 2021 is prevailing. The low pressure in the southeastern Arabian Sea since the morning of May 14 has been forecast by the Meteorological Department to turn into a cyclonic storm in the east-central Arabian Sea on May 15 and move north-northwest. Gujarat is likely to be hit by 'Taukte' on May 19-20 in Saurashtra-Kutch and winds of up to 35-40 kmph may blow.

Hurricane 'Taukte' is likely to hit Saurashtra-Kutch on May 19. Apart from this, Kutch, Jamnagar, Morbi, Rajkot, Amreli, Botad, Bhavnagar, Junagadh and Saurashtra Kutch received heavy rains with strong winds.
