कर्नाटक के कोडागु जिले के अवरेगुंडा गांव में एक हाथी गड्ढे में गिर गया. जब काफी प्रयास के बाद भी हाथी बाहर नहीं निकल पाया तो ग्रामीणें ने वन विभाग को सूचना दी. वन विभाग की टीम जेसीबी मशीन के साथ मौके पर पहुंची. जेसीबी मशीन ने बाहर निकलने का प्रयास कर रहे हाथी की मदद की. जेसीबी मशीन ने हाथी को पीछे से धक्का लगाया. जेसीबी मशीन के सपोर्ट से हाथी गड्ढे से निकलने में सफल रहा. हाथी ने बाहर निकलते ही जेसीबी मशीन पर हमला कर दिया. हाथी के हमले से बचने के लिए उसकी तरफ पटाखे फेके गए. पटाखे की आवाज से हाथी जंगल की तरफ चला गया और लोगों ने राहत की सांस ली.
