A total foreign investment of Rs 6.20 lakh crore in the country
Gujarat has been successful in attracting foreign investors at a time when the country's economy has been hit hard between the lockdown and transition in the Corona period and Gujarat is no exception. In the Corona period alone, Gujarat has received foreign investment of Rs 2.23 lakh crore in a year. Gujarat ranks first in the country with 37% share in total FDI.
The US accounted for 23 per cent of the
country's foreign investment of Rs 6.20 lakh crore in 2020-21. Among the investing countries, Singapore accounted for 29% and India for 23%. Mauritius has invested 9 percent.
UK investment increased by 44%
USA investment increased by 227% and UK investment increased by 44%. Compared to last year, investment in commuter software and hardware, rubber goods, retail trading, pharma, electrical equipment has increased by 100%. The software, hardware sector is at the top for investment with 44%.
The highest investment in software and hardware sector
Gujarat has the highest 94% investment in computer software and hardware sector. Gujarat accounts for 78% of the country's total investment in this sector. Second is the construction-infrastructure activities sector with 2 per cent foreign investment.
