The Gujarat High Court, in a hearing on Corona's condition, had directed the government to impose a 3-4-day curfew or lockdown to break the chain of transition in the state. After the meeting of the Care Committee, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced night curfew in 20 districts of the state, including 8 Municipal Corporations, from 8 pm to 6 am.
Prior to the meeting, the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister discussed the issue through a video conference between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Principal Secretary to Prime Minister PK Mishra, in which it was said that the Union team would visit Gujarat shortly.

No restrictions on political gatherings
After the meeting, the chief minister said that the secretaries and officials in charge of each district and city would have to carry out only the work related to Kovid and they would have to suspend the activities of their government departments for the time being. As the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation general election is on April 18 and the Morwa Hadaf assembly seat by-election is on April 17, the state government has not imposed restrictions on political rallies or seats in these areas. With the exception of these two areas, restrictions will be enforced in all other areas. However, in these areas, the guidelines laid down by the Election Commission pertaining to Kovid will have to be strictly followed.
