Online Lock Aadhaar Card -

• First you need to go to the official website of UIDAI https://resident.uidai.gov.in/.
• In 'My Aadhaar' you will see the 'Aadhaar Services' option.
• Lock / Unlock Biometrics option will appear just below 'Aadhaar Services'.
• Tick ​​the box and click Lock / Unlock Biometrics below.
• Then the log in option appears, enter the 12 digit base number or 12 digit virtual ID (VID) here.
• Enter the captcha code and click on 'Send OTP'.
• After entering the OTP, there will be an option to lock the biometric data.
• Click the lock, just then your Aadhaar card will be blocked.

You can also lock your support by sending a message from a registered mobile number. For that you have to send GETOTP SMS to 1947 from your mobile number. After doing so, an OTP will be sent to your mobile number. This OTP will have to be re-sent to 1947 number by typing 'LOCKUID Aadhaar Number'. After doing so, your Aadhaar number will be locked and will not be misused in case of loss.
