Complainant Acharya Chandra Kishore had accused the makers of misusing Kailash Mansarovar in the poster.
In the film, Alia Bhatt fights against superstitious Babas. Alia has the support of Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy. The concept of the film was called anti-religious as soon as the trailer came out.

Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer 'PK' was a superduper hit. The story of the film was based on an alien. Comes to India for Alien Research Mission. Its signal transmitter is lost as soon as it arrives in India. Through the film, the case of Babas who misrepresented religion in the country was exposed. Fans loved the film, but the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal accused the makers of hurting religious sentiments. Complaints were lodged against 5 others, including Aamir. The hearing was held in Indore District Court.

The film 'Dharma Sankat Mein' released in 2015 was about an anti-Muslim named Dharmapal. The character was played by Paresh Rawal. Dharmapala suddenly finds out that his biological parents were Muslims and he was adopted by a Hindu family. Dharmapala's attitude towards religion changes after the truth comes out. As it was a delicate issue, the censor board called Hindu and Muslim gurus and showed the film. Some of the provocative dialogues in the film were removed and only then was the film released.

Deep Mehta's 'Water' was released in 2005. The film was about widowhood. The makers also faced controversy during the shooting of the film. The set was often attacked. Several organizations tried to stage a suicide protest to stop the shooting.
Oh My God- 2012

Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal played the lead roles in the film 'Oh My God' released in 2012. In the film, Paresh Rawal has played the role of a businessman named Kanji Lalji Mehta. Paresh Rawal makes and sells idols of God. However, he is an atheist. Kanji sues the insurance company for damages caused by the earthquake. However, he is told that he cannot be compensated for being an Act of God. Offended by this, Kanji sues God.
