Continuous monitoring in the police controlroom through the three-eye project
Announcing the closure of RR Cell in the state police department, Chief Minister Rupani told a press conference here that the police department was now being equipped with more technology. It has been decided to close this RR cell which has been functioning since 1995 and strengthen it by giving more powers to the Superintendent of Police. Police collusion with criminals will not be carried out. Appropriate arrangements will be made for this through continuous surveillance. Cyber police stations have been set up in the range area to control cyber crime and we plan to expand to district headquarters. Similarly, a state-wide network of cameras has been set up across the state to prevent criminals from fleeing after committing a crime, which is being monitored continuously in the police control room through a three-eye project.
The Chief Minister added that we also plan to install body cameras on the uniforms of the police personnel to ensure coordination between the police officers and the citizens of the state and to create a transparency between the two.

"We have strengthened the aspect by amending the aspect law," state police chief Ashish Bhatia said while making 11 cases in a year under the Gujarat law and nabbing 100 accused . To implement the aspect is now proposed at the district police chief or commissioner level and there is a provision to implement after the approval of the concerned collector. Under the Gujarat law, 11 cases have been registered in the last one year and more than 100 accused have been booked. Under this Act, 26 cases have been registered recently in Vadodara, 2 in Surat, 2 in Amreli, 2 in Ahmedabad and 2 in Jamnagar. A campaign has also been launched to take action against the accused. More than 20,000 people have been traced in the state and appropriate action will be taken against them.

Giving accurate information about some of the cases, Bhatia added, "We have caught one accused named Dharmendra in visa fraud among the fugitives." Meanwhile, an accused named Sandeep Gupta, who was involved in a planned scam of stealing oil from ONGC and Indian Oil Corporation's pipelines and was operating from Delhi, has been arrested from Mumbai. The accused, who was nabbed by the state's ATS, will soon be brought to Gujarat, whose interrogation will reveal how he set up a statewide oil theft network.
