Today is the 40th and most important day of the ongoing peasant movement against agricultural laws. The 8th round of talks with the farmers' government has already begun. The farmer leader is adamant on the demand to withdraw the three agricultural laws in Vigyan Bhavan. The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Som Prakash. He observed a two-minute silence to pay tributes to the farmers who lost their lives in the agitation.

Before leaving for the meeting, the Agriculture Minister said that a positive solution is expected today. At the same time, farmers' organizations said that if the government did not accept the demand, the agitation would intensify.

The farmer leader who will be involved in the conversation reached Vigyan Bhavan

Rakar hopes the agitation can end today, with farmers' organizations saying the agitation will intensify if the government does not accept the demand. Farmer leader Manjit Singh Rai said that if the talks do not come to fruition, Lohri will be celebrated on January 13 by burning a copy of the Agriculture Act.

Rakesh Tikait, a spokesman for the Indian Farmers' Union, said 60 farmers had been killed so far during the agitation. One farmer dies every 16 hours. Becomes the responsibility of the government.

Updates

Hanna Mola, general secretary of the All India Farmers' Association, said it was up to the present government to resolve the issue of farmers or to weaken their struggle by conspiring against them. We hope the government will keep humane thinking.

Reliance Jio's towers and offices in Punjab and Haryana were vandalized in the last few days in support of the farmers' movement. Reliance filed the petition in the Punjab-Haryana High Court on Monday. The government should immediately intervene and stop the hooliganism, the company said. Such acts of violence have endangered the lives of thousands of workers and damaged communications infrastructure. With that said, we have nothing to do with contract farming.

Sukhwinder Singh, joint secretary of the Farmers' Labor Struggle Committee, Punjab, said the tractor would also march on January 6 if the demand for withdrawal of agricultural laws and guarantee of MSP was not met.

Rakesh Tikait, spokesperson for the Indian Farmers' Union, said the government should understand the heart of the farmers. We are not allowed anything other than taking back the law. The government should implement the report of the Swaminashan Commission and make a new law on MSP.

At the meeting on December 30, two points were agreed
upon. Government agrees to remove it
2. No change in Electricity Act, farmers fear that the law will stop electricity subsidy. Now this will not become law.

.. Therefore the hopes of the farmers increased and the attitude softened. After
agreeing on 2 points, the attitude of the farmers softened and they avoided the tractor rally to be held on 31st December. These 2 important issues will be discussed today.
1. The farmer is adamant on the demand to repeal the three laws
2. The farmers say that a separate law should be made regarding MSP so that they can get a fair price.

What is the hope of a settlement?
According to news agency sources, today's meeting may also address major issues of farmers. The government can give confidence in writing on the issue of support value and the Agriculture Produce Market Committee. At the same time, arrangements can be made so that private companies cannot buy in the market at a price lower than MSP.
